HAND SANITIZER FAQs

Water-Based Hand Sanitizing Anti-Microbial Foam FAQ

Germ Ready's moisturizing hand sanitizer helps kill viruses and germs for up to 6 hours, providing additional disinfection after washing your hands. We have the answers here to your frequently asked questions about our alcohol-free foaming hand sanitizer.

Absolutely! Washing your hands is crucial for maintaining good health. Cleansing with soap and water for 20 seconds is the best way to remove germs and chemicals from your hands. Apply Germ Ready afterward to kill remaining germs and provide long-lasting protection, especially after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.

When possible, wash your hands when visibly dirty and in the following circumstances:

  • Eating
  • Preparing food
  • Caring for someone who is sick
  • Picking up pet waste
  • Taking out the garbage
  • Going to the bathroom
  • Changing diapers

The active ingredient in Germ Ready hand sanitizer is benzalkonium chloride. This quaternary ammonium compound is in many disinfecting wipes and soaps. We also include a plant-derived moisturizer called saccharide isomerate to ensure your skin stays soft when using our product. This ingredient binds to your skin, providing long-lasting hydration in addition to the extended germ-killing properties of BZK's antimicrobial salts. We use 4-hydroxyphenylglycine and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose as safe stabilizing ingredients. Many food products use these elements, too.

Yes, Germ Ready washes off with soap and water. Reapply our antimicrobial foam after hand washing to kill germs that remain on your skin and give you a protective barrier that lasts for hours.

The Food and Drug Administration deems products that are 99.9% effective against germs and viruses bacteriostatic. Our hand sanitizer showed an effective reduction against methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, a potentially dangerous skin bacteria, as a leave-on surface sanitizer. Germ Ready demonstrated antimicrobial activity up to 6 hours after applying the product to the skin.

When you apply Germ Ready hand sanitizer, having the correct technique ensures the best results. It should take about the same timeframe to use sanitizer as it does to wash your hands. Follow these steps to kill germs on your hands with our alcohol-free sanitizer:

  1. Put 1-2 pumps of Germ Ready foam into the palms of your hands.
  2. Gently rub your hands to distribute the product thoroughly and evenly. Make sure you cover both the front and back of each hand.
  3. Allow the foam to dry and bond with your skin. This process takes about 30 seconds.
  4. Germ Ready kills the germs on your hands in 15 seconds and provides up to 6 hours of continuous protection from over 99.99% of all germs & viruses.

With Germ Ready, you can stay healthy by killing germs safely and efficiently. Germ Ready uses the active ingredient Benzalkonium chloride (BZK). BZK is an organic salt compound that has been used since the early 20th century in products such as disinfecting surface wipes, soaps and skin disinfectants, and mouthwashes.

BZK is the only compound other than ethanol and isopropanol alcohol eligible to be an active ingredient in hand sanitizer. With the highest concentration of BZK on the market, Germ Ready is effective against germs and is safe to be used on skin. We added a moisturizing ingredient that keeps skin soft and damage-free while disinfecting.  With Germ Ready, you know you are using an effective nontoxic disinfectant that is alcohol-free, fragrance-free, dye-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.

Alcohol Sanitizers Damage Your Skin

When you use alcohol-based hand sanitizers often, it can cause your skin to become dry and damaged. Due to the increased demand for alcohol-based sanitizers, some companies have resorted to using lower quality and sometimes dangerous forms of alcohol in their products.

Germ Ready Offers a Safe Alternative

Benzalkonium chloride is the active ingredient in Germ Ready foaming hand sanitizer. This organic salt compound is an effective and safe disinfecting alternative to isopropyl alcohol and ethanol for soaps, skin disinfectants, mouthwashes, and sanitizing surface wipes. Our hand sanitizer contains the highest concentration of BZK on the market, making it effective in the fight against germs.

Yes; our active ingredient, Benzalkonium Chloride, is one of 3 ingredients currently approved for use in killing Covid-19.

BZK fights germs effectively

As the use of alcohol-based sanitizers increases, viruses and bacteria become more tolerant of them. There is no demonstrated microbial tolerance to our active ingredient of BZK at 0.12%. Our product has a concentration of 0.15%, ensuring maximum germ-killing properties.

Our Hand Sanitizer Won't Dry Your Skin
